April 30th, 2009

Heavy eyelids and sluggish movements takeover our bodies.  Lets consciously let every muscle relax.  Let your head rest.  Let your mind do the talking for once.  Relax and close your eyes.

Dancing in the Dark

Two hands

Intertwined

Two lovers

Laughing

Two stars

Being wished upon

Two hearts

Beating in unison

Two eyes

Dancing in the dark

Out

The whispers of the wind steadily speak to me

My eyes release a single, lonely tear

Unaware of the rain raining down

Everything fades in and out, in and out

Your image becomes but a mirror of condensation

We found yet another maze with those trick mirrors

Malleus

What’s your iambic pentameter?  I won’t follow your rules.  I won’t follow a theme.

I’m no poet, but those words are beautiful. All five.  I’m no Ebert.  Elbert.  Or whatever hell a poem reviewer is called.

I can get used to this.

He said with a smile

I can get used to this.

He said.

It’s poetry to the hearer’s ears.

Are your thoughts different than mine?

We say things, but mean something else. C’est la vie. Just say it though.

I need skipping stones…  tea…  and perfect weather.

We all need something.

I thought there was a crumb on my key, but it was a comma.

Well hey there, my pen hasn’t touched you in awhile…a long while.  I’m sorry… don’t get testy with me, I’ve been busy.  Seriously.  Don’t look at me like that, I’VE BEEN BUSY!

So lets get to it.  Take advantage of me.  I’ll tell you everything.

Although you might not believe this, everything has stayed relatively still.

We’re learning more advanced songs in my guitar class,  like the Spanish Etude.  Its filled with arpeggio’s which is a broken cord played repeatedly.  Could you imagine …me…a part of Rodrigo y Gabriela y Marian.  Okay, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself, but damn that would be sweet.  Since we’re talking about my impossible possible future occupation, I’d like to add that I’ll probably have to add an ‘a’ at the end of my name.  Mariana.

Ballet is going well.  I think I secretly want to become a ballerina when I grow up too.  Jason, Steve, Teresa and I attended the Peter Pan ballet and I was simply amazed by the flexibility and grace of the ballerinas.  Can you please bottle that up and sell it to me?  Particularly the flexibility elixir.  Oh, thanks, you’re great.

So now …my two English classes.  I absolutely love ‘Medieval and Renaissance Literature’ class.  I have no warm, cuddly feelings towards ‘Language and Humor’ though.  I wouldn’t even stroke its head.  I think what I’m most unhappy about is my most recent grade.  I was accused of slopping writing.  And maybe, yes, I could have done better, but can’t you write it in cursive and on pretty floral paper that I didn’t do well?  Flowers make me happy.  Luckily, we get a redo on one of our papers and lovely assignment 2 made that cut.

So enough about school, lets talk about what I ALMOST FORGOT!  I have someone new in my life.  She’s sexy, slim, modern-looking, and enjoys hanging out at coffee shops.  Yes.  You’re right, I bought a new macbook!  I actually just said goodbye to my Dell 15 minutes ago, I had her for four years.  I’m almost sad to see all this free space on my desk.  Almost.

Overall, life’s been great.

Warning: I have a busy couple of weeks coming up, so 10-second hugs are more than welcome.
