breeze.

Sorry I haven’t been updating all that much. There hasn’t been much content (other than videos) because I’ve been trying to pack my last week in MD with errands and outings. (outings…does that sound like I have a yacht? oh ho ho I’m going to spend the weekend on my yacht. eh eh?)

So anyways, my main purpose of writing for today… is to talk about http://freshome.com/, which is one of my favorite sites. Although google reader begs to differ since I’m not completely updated with the site, it is one of my favorite sites.

Modern homes and furniture are often featured on the site, as well as information on choosing the right furniture. I’m not sure why I like looking at this stuff so much, but perhaps it’s the quick read of each of their entries. Some of the homes on the site are just so modern that it’s like does this really exist? I mean who the hell lives in a tree house anyways?   Nonetheless, it’s fun and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys looking at art within the home.

So I move to NY on Tuesday. I’m not nearly as ready as I think I am, but I know I’ll be ready once the time comes when I need to be…ready. That was the weirdest sentence ever, but I think all of you who know me would agree. I AM excited though. I’ll be living in a new place and learning information that will actually apply to my future career.

With everything that I’ve been doing over the past week, I’m completely content with how I’m leaving Maryland. I’ve been around friends and Derek, so what more can a girl ask for? :)   Here are a few random shots and a new favorite music video that refuses to be embedded:

Woowee its been a long week.  Quite the long week.

My Valentine’s Day weekend in Philly was a blast.  Action-packed and well-planned.  :)  I had an amazing time with Derek!

Okay, that’s all I have in me to write today…the bed wants me.

I have an increased motivation to look at West Coast cities for Graduate programs.   Not only for the weather, but the scenery…  It’s beautiful here.

Yesterday, Derek and I went to the Red Sox vs. Mariners baseball game, it was incredible because once we were Seattle we could see mountains in the distance.  In what city on the East Coast can you see mountains?  uhh NONE.

So as you all know, I turned 21 on Sunday.  Derek and I went along the shore on a hunt for anemones.   The weather was absolutely perfect, and the contrast of the dark green leaves upon the trees and the cerulean sky/water was beautiful.  Everything about this state reminds me of Alaska, except for the little fact that this place is much more populated.  After the beach, Derek and I headed to this really nice restaurant near Pike’s marketplace where we had dinner at the Pink Door.  I ate Pistachio Chicken, which I don’t recall having any nutty flavor, regardless though, it was excellent.  House wine was my first official drink…and I’m writing all of this out because obviously when I’m 40 years old, I’d want to remember my first drink.

I’m at a great coffeehouse right now, even better than the College Perk (which has been shut down due to a fire).  WHY IS IT SO AMAZING YOU ASK?  There’s a huge bookshelf which extends from the first floor to the second, but not only that, it comes equipped with one of those rolling ladders.  I need a rolling ladder, it’s necessary for any activity in my life.  If any of you are in the Seattle area, check out Bauhaus books and coffee.  Also yelp is a great website to find reviews on various stores and restaurants in the area…its been a great resource since I’ve been here.

Well, I should get back to crossing out schools on my list and writing my personal statement.

Ciao!

P.S.  For all those who are interested, I get to be a UTA for Microbio for the fall semester!  I am ECSTATIC!

I got your nose = O

After being with him for about 3.5 years, I’m starting to realize that I’m used to not seeing him so often.  The first year, things were different, and I was sad every time he left for Philly.  After that, I realized that sooner or later those two or three weeks would pass and I would get to see him.  It’s been awhile since I’ve seen him; about half the summer.   I’m so excited to visit him next week.  :D

I saw it in his eyes, just how good it made him feel. And if I hadn’t been dancing with someone, I would have given him one of those passionate kisses you only hear Clark Gable speak about.

Trans-state-icism

You shouldn’t think about what your feeling
No one ever tells you why
Drifting from a state of uncertainty
And never feeling quite satisfied,
There exist feelings of stress.
With no absolute resolution because it doesn’t stop
The feelings that you are thinking about
These feelings are…
Lengthening the time
Extending the nights and decreasing day.
Sleep spent isn’t real
When dreams are about the day.
You’re drifting off to sleep now
Grasping for one more glimpse of the world
And your heart hurts
But desire is true and thoughts are alive
Too alive as the energy decreases any lulling effect of the chamomile
Sleep begins and vivid pictures appear
In this dream, we’ll meet at the diner
And you’ll wait for me
Yeah, you’ll wait for me.
Because I’m not thinking about what I’m feeling
And I know these sleepy eyes of mine will open
Since you’ll be waiting.

The News of News

I am extremely happy for Derek. I just got off the phone with him. He’s in Seattle where he is interviewing with Microsoft. Above doing such great things and getting such amazing offers, he seems to have such good control of his life with working, dancing, and all the other things he does. Anyways, I’m damn proud of him. Currently, I’m studying like mad for my final exams, which I’m feeling pretty confident about. I’m loving it at the behavioral optometrist practice I’m working at since everyone there just seems so intelligent…it makes me want to learn more. I didn’t think I was going to leave the Marriott any time soon, but it’s going to seem that way for the next couple of months since I really don’t have much time to work there anymore. I will always love my coworkers there though. ANYWAYS, my future roomies and I will be checking out another house this Thursday. =) umm yeah sorry for the rather scattered entry, but FUCK yeah almost done. and done with this entry!

I’m Just So Lucky

I am so lucky to have Derek

in 15 minutes, he made the past 24 hours feel …less like that sinking-feeling at the back of your throat.
