Any tyro movie-goer would easily say that the Dark Knight was THE MOVIE OF THE YEAR. (btw I totally used a GRE word there) Initially I assumed the movie would be attended by viewers making condolences to the main character. BUT I WAS NAIVE. The movie grossed over $155 million this past week for the amazing performance of all of the characters especially Heath Ledger. He WAS the JOKER. The Joker was an intrepid villain who truly fulfilled all the characteristics I expected from his role as an antagonist. I will admit that the movie was lengthy, but I think the plot was developed enough that there was reason for the concomitant length.
Some questions I had throughout the movie included:
- What was the Joker’s background? His life seems to be a cornucopia of lies. I would have liked a flashback of some sort explaining his situation.
-When did the Joker implant the cell phone into that man’s stomach?
-How did the Joker gain so many followers? Didn’t word go around that he killed many of his accomplices?
Anyways, I really enjoyed my first movie of the summer! (I know it’s ridiculous)
Now to update everyone on my life: I’m back to work, but my schedule has cleaned up so I’m free Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Studying for the GRE’s is so…fun. I move into my new place this Sunday, I can’t wait to move in! Well, until next time…
That’s all folks.
